Are there people who would like to see Gordon Brown dead ?

Reading Shapan on his (?) "Lingering questions about Robin Cook's death" rang a chord ( see also his (?) the only transcription of the last BBC radio interview Bob Woolmer did for 5 Live)

But. for example, how did he die? The post mortem took two days "to establish whether the Livingston MP had died from an illness or injuries sustained in the fall", and the cause of death was eventually given as 'hypertensive heart disease'. No mention was made of any injuries to the head and neck...... .
When did he die? There are conflicting accounts, not helped by the fact that the announcement of his death was delayed by three hours for family and friends to be informed. .....

Who were the so-far unidentified group of walkers (or hunters(?)) who, we were told, came to Gaynor Cook's aid? If it's not an obvious question, what were they doing on Ben Stack? For, according to the landlady of Scourie Lodge, where the Cooks had spent their last night,

"She was lucky another walker was in the area to be with her at such a time.

"You could be on Ben Stack ninety times and not see a soul, so for someone to be within shouting distance and with a mobile phone was very fortunate."

Which just makes us all want to wish Gordon Brown a long life and a happy holiday in the hills this Easter.

Cui bono??
At the time of Cookies' death it was likely that there would be either a vacancy or a challenge for the leadership of the Labour Party. Cook would have been a prime contender, so if assassination is your "bag" look for who would have motive and means. ie another contender with an assassin at their disposal.

Of course, this presupposes that Britain is governed not by incompetents but by the Borgias.

Regular readers of the Postman's musings might equally contemplate that Cook was a renowned gambler and racing tipster and look for an eastern gambling cartel connection.

Does Brown enjoy a bet??

In the time (less than a month) between the 7/7 bombings and Cook's demise, he also made a nuisance of himself with op-eds such as this (wherein he told 'Al-Qaida, literally "the database", was originally the computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Russians') and this (his final piece).
